As Executive Producer, Annie Spiczak is managing the production of CALLE LEJOS from start to finish. Released in 2020, Jeremy Wheeler, Director, served as the film's primary visionary.
CALLE LEJOS is a thriller inspired by the true story of a father murdering his wife, Donna, and his stepchildren, Danni (14) and Ricky (12).
In this short film, Donna is planning to run away from her abusive husband, David, with the children by pretending to go on a vacation. But first she has to finish one more night shift at work in order to have enough money to fund their escape. She regretfully leaves Danni and Ricky alone with their abusive stepdad for one more night. However, it is 10:00 pm and he’s passed out drunk again. It shouldn’t be a problem as long as they pack and go to bed. Danni is left in charge.
Danni leaves her little brother alone in the house to say goodbye to her horse on the other side of the ranch. As the night unfolds, David wakes up. A cat and mouse game begins as he hunts the children down one by one.
Keeping a step ahead of her evil stepdad, Danni manages to call her mother, who leaves work to come home. David leaves the hunt for his stepchildren to ambush his wife.
Realizing she is now responsible for her own survival, Danni fights back and seeks to stop her evil stepdad.
